The Baptist Rehab Services/ MAC All-Star Soccer Games were played on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Brandon High School.
GIRLS GAME
The South Girls won the 23rd annual MAC Girls’ All-Star Soccer game 2-1. The South’s Lonnie Mulligan (Oak Grove) scored in the 9th minute of the game to give the South a 1-0 lead at the end of the first half. In the 58th minute of the game the North’s Mattie Lewis (Germantown) evened the score at 1-1. The score remained tied until the 74th minute when Lonnie Mulligan (Oak Grove) scored her 2nd goal that ended up being the game winner.
At the conclusion of the game the following awards were presented:
-Most Valuable Offensive Player-Lonnie Mulligan, Oak Grove High School
-Most Valuable Defensive Player-Kelsay Himel, Ocean Springs High School
-Coca-Cola Student Athlete Award-Lauren Taylor, Tupelo High School
-Game Ball was presented to Allie James, West Jones High School
BOYS GAME
The South Boys won the 36th annual MAC Boys’ All-Star Soccer game 2-1 also. The North’s Clayton O’Daniel (Tupelo) got the games first goal in the 20th minute of the first half. In the 34th minute the South’s Mike Jimenez (Ocean Springs) scored to tie the game up. In the 38th minute Caleb Burke (Ocean Springs) put the South ahead 2-1 and after a scoreless 2nd half his goal proved to be the game winner.
At the conclusion of the game the following awards were presented:
-Most Valuable Offensive Player-Caleb Burke, Ocean Springs High School
-Most Valuable Defensive Player-Juan Lechuga, Laurel High School
-William Winter Student Athlete Award-Cooper Grafe, Hancock High School
-Game Ball was presented to Weston Mitchell, Corinth High School
