BASKETBALL ALL-STARS HAVE BEEN SELECTED!

    

 

The 2020 Mississippi Sports Medicine North/South All-Star Basketball Games are scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2020 at A.E. Wood Coliseum on the campus of Mississippi College in Clinton, MS.

Admission will be $10; MAC Cards will be accepted.

 

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • All-Star Basketball Player Participation Forms must be submitted by Thursday, January 23.
  • North/South Basketball All-Star Ad Sales must be received in our office by Thursday, January 23.
  • North/South Basketball All-Stars will report on Game Day, Saturday, July 18; reporting times will be staggered to comply with COVID-19 GuidelinesReporting Instructions will be available 2 weeks prior to game day; be sure to check the website at that time to download them.
    • REPORTING TIMES: 
      • ​1A/2A/3A Girls: 10:30 AM
      • 1A/2A/3A Boys:  1 PM
      • 4A/5A/6A Girls:  3:30 PM
      • 4A/5A/6A Boys:  6 PM
  • 2020 Mississippi Sports Medicine North/South All-Star Basketball Games will be played Saturday, July 18, 2020 at A.E. Wood Coliseum on the campus of Mississippi College in Clinton, MS.​  The Coliseum parking lot is located on Highway 80 between Springridge Road (I-20 Exit 36) and Clinton-Raymond Road (I-20 Exit 35).  Admission will be $10 (good for all games); MAC Cards will be accepted.
    • GAME TIMES:
      • 1A/2A/3A Girls' Game:  12 Noon
      • 1A/2A/3A Boys' Game:  2:30 PM
      • 4A/5A/6A Girls' Game:  5 PM
      • 4A/5A/6A Boys' Game:  7:30 PM

Guidelines North/South All-Star Basketball Games

I. Selection of Coaches:

•  Must be a current member of the M.A.C.
• Must have been a member of the M.A.C. for at least three (3) consecutive years.
• Must have been a head high school basketball coach in a MHSAA school for at least three (3) years.
• Can only coach in one all-star game per year.
• Must abide by the M.A.C. Code of Ethics.
• Must cooperate with the M.A.C. in the sale of ads.
• Each All-Star Coach will receive $175.00 honorarium.
• Must have demonstrated by past performance that he/she will fulfill all commitments he/she made concerning his/her all-star player(s) as required and specified to by the M.A.C.
• Recommendations for these All-Star Coaches come from M.A.C. Basketball Committee based on nomination forms submitted by individual coaches; final approval by the M.A.C. Executive Committee.
 
II. Selection of Players:
• A maximum of two (2) players on each team can be selected from the same school.
• Must be a junior in good standing with MHSAA, MAC, respective school & coaching staff.
• Must respond to all dated material by the date requested.
• Female players must not be pregnant.
• Must cooperate with the M.A.C. in the sale of ads.
• Must exhibit positive attitude to those in charge at all times.
• Male & female players cannot wear earrings in practices or games.
 
** A player or coach may be dismissed from the All-Star team at any time by the MAC Executive Director for not complying with these guidelines.
 
III. To be eligible for selection, all player nominations must be electronically submitted on the M.A.C. website five working days before the date of the Selection Committee Meeting.
