2026 MR. & MISS BASKETBALL, PRESENTED BY CSPIRE, AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED
CLINTON, Miss. – The 2026 class of “Mr. Basketball” and “Miss Basketball” (presented by C Spire) award winners have been announced by the Mississippi High School Activities Association and Mississippi Association of Coaches.

The full list of 2026 Miss Basketball, presented by C Spire, award winners follows:
- 1A – Daylen Grisham, Ingomar High School
- 2A – Mariyah Farrell, Heidelberg High School
- 3A – Lamaya Southward, Booneville High School
- 4A – Kazli Timbes, Tishomingo County High School
- 5A – Kayllis Walker, Laurel High School
- 6A – Shamira Morton, Canton High School
- 7A – Jada Gay, Starkville High School
The only repeat winner on this year’s list, Morton (Canton) grabbed the award for Class 5A last year. In Class 1A, Grisham keeps the award at Ingomar (Macie Phifer claimed it for Ingomar the past three years) while Tishomingo County holds the award for a second year (Meg Moore in 2025).

- 1A – Jon Grey Morrisson, West Union High School
- 2A – Zion Grant, Pelahatchie High School
- 3A – Wilson McDonald, Alcorn Central High School
- 4A – Landon Hall, Pass Christian High School
- 5A – Mike Hood, Columbus High School
- 6A – Blake Nettles, Pascagoula High School
- 7A – Sam Funches, Germantown High School
This marks the first “Mr. Basketball” title for all seven student-athletes earning the award for 2026. Morrisson (West Union) was also named “Mr. Baseball” for Class 1A in 2025. All Mr. Basketball and Miss Basketball winners will be recognized during the 2026 Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Big House Classic MHSAA State Championships at the Mississippi Coliseum (March 2-7). Recipients will also be honored at a special awards luncheon, which will also be live streamed on the NFHS Network, in the MHSAA Conference Center on March 10.
